Yup, will not, based on the FB discussion here. Thanks for helping me update!

credibility I have with my leadership of Intentional Insights

Maybe the fact that some people feel that your writing feels like "spiders" is exacerbated by the fact that Intentional Insights is seen by some as an undeserved status grab. If one of the top ten posters (karma-wise) from LW had founded Intentional Insights, nobody would have blinked. I don't remember you posting to LW before having started Intentional Insights, though.

My read of the situation is that you're a really nice person who gives off the impression of being an aggressive outsider to some because of how you use Intentional Insights to claim status.

Thanks for the good words about my personality! I appreciate how you highlight the status issues. This might be a failure at other minds for me. I have a really difficult time imagining starting InIn as a status grab by someone. It's a huge, huge ton of work to start a nonprofit organization and make it work. I've been working for 50-60 hours a week on it, in addition to my regular job as a professor, and invested abut $30K into it, without expecting anything in return.

Regard posting, I was a lurker before starting Intentional Insights. I wanted to wait until I had a worthwhile project before starting to post. InIn was started about 6 months before I actually started to post.

Thanks for taking everyone's criticisms and suggestions so well. :)

Also, just because people don't like it when others grab status, doesn't make grabbing status morally good or bad in itself. Harry grabs status all over the place in HPMoR, and certain people hate him for it, but this doesn't change the fact that he's the good guy.

Not from my point of view.

For years we heard that FAI is very complex problem, with hundreds solutions suggested and no one proved. But than Musk said: lets give AI to everybody - and everybody seems to think that it is magical solution to all our problems. It may be. But I want it to be proved rigoriously. Unfortunately it seems that Open AI was created not to search solution, but to prove that one exact solution is the best. It would lead to rationalizing. I don't think that is the best way for safety. It remind me a story of LHC. After a decision to build it was made, they created a committee to prove it safety. And not surprisingly they found that it is safe (the did some unproved assumption to do so, see Adrian Kent article on the topic). I really want to see technical prove that Open AI is safe and I want to find that this prove was made before they made the decision.
