The SF meetup is here to stay! Now that we've discussed deep questions at our first event it's time to discuss "shallow questions!"

Whether you're new to the community or you read the sequences as Eliezer wrote them, feel free to attend! We'll have plenty of time for unstructured conversation that could get as deep as you'd like too.

Time: Monday Oct 18, 6:30-8:30pm

Location: Salesforce Park, on top of the Transbay terminal building. It's an outdoor area with plenty of distance-able seating.

The Transbay building may be cavernous and eerily empty, but it really is open to the public. Take the elevators or stairs up to the park / roof.

We usually meet in the glass-floored area with all the tables, towards the Beale St. side of the park. It's marked as "main plaza" on this map. If you come out of the elevators and see a play area with climbing nets to your right: walk towards them, turn left, and walk down the path. If you don't see them that means you're on the other end of the park; walk down the path long enough in either direction and you'll get there.

It'll probably be cold enough that you'll want to bring a jacket.

There are many places nearby to get food. Depending on demand, we may also make a group delivery order before the meetup starts.

About these meetups: The mission of the SF LessWrong meetup is to provide a fun, low-key social space with some structured interaction, where new and non-new community members can mingle and have interesting conversations. Everyone is welcome.

We explicitly encourage people to split off from the main conversation or diverge from the topic if that would be more fun for them (moving side conversations into a separate part of the space if appropriate). Meetup topics are here as a tool to facilitate fun interaction, and we certainly don’t want them to inhibit it.
