OMFG... What utter #carnist, #speciesist lack of rationality and lack of logic. Discovering that beings with a central nervous system are sentient and then rather than stopping consumption of beings with a central nervous system, Harry immediately skips over that and flips out worrying about plant sentience. Utter illogical nonsense to totally ignore the unnecessary harm done to non-human animals in the name of habit and comfort. If this book had anything to do with actually looking at rationality, Harry would've stopped eating anything that had a central nervous system (which are sentient beings!) and would've not skipped over that glaringly obvious point to freak out over plants.
Earlier Harry freaked out over the possibility of plant sentience, while completely skipping over sentience in all beings with central nervous systems - all animals). Now in this book about rationality Harry is beginning an entire reasoning process with a flawed and unquestioned premise: "If it was right to eat a cow to feed yourself for a day, then it had to be right to drink a unicorn's blood in order to stave off death for weeks. You couldn't have it both ways." Since Harry can eat just plants (which lack central nervous systems) and chooses not to, Harry is purposefully cruel and failing to question his illogical flawed premise. So disappointed in this obvious #carnist #speciesist excuse for "logic" or "rationality."
