I enjoy this blog quite a bit. This post however, doesn't even try to overcome bias. In fact, it seems to glory in in it. Walker Percy said maybe it would be good to have the dogfish in the Shakespeare class and the sonnet in the science lab. So why not the painting in the math class? It's well worth considering, especially due to the tendency of those within any discipline to "close to novelty" over time. Sometimes, their openness needs to be rejuvenated by exploring other disciplines outside their comfort zones. That's one way of overcoming bias.
