TLDR:

Amplify is an early-stage project supporting local Effective Altruist and AI Safety local groups as well as other field-building organisations. We have recently received a grant from The Effective Altruism Infrastructure Fund to turn what started as a passion project into an established organisation. We are adding to our team of open-minded, highly driven, altruistic and collaborative team members to keep up with our clients and their growing needs. Deadline: 23rd September, 2024 Apply here!
With any questions, please email gergo@enais.co

Who are we looking for?

We plan to hire someone working part-time (20-30 hours per week) on this project for 6-10 months. We are looking for either a senior or junior marketing specialist. You can learn more about the roles below:

Senior Marketing Specialist

The Senior Marketing Specialist is responsible for the planning and implementation of client requests we receive from non-profits. Familiarity and experience with best practices for paid ads on Meta and LinkedIn and an eagerness to learn and implement the most cutting-edge techniques for social media campaigns are core to being successful in this position.

We are growing, and priorities can change rapidly. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to shift direction with ease while maintaining flexibility in working with other teams and projects. Additionally, they are hungry to learn and ready to take their experience to the next level.

This role will:
-Implement and manage paid social campaigns in Meta and LinkedIn
-Research and evaluate campaigns to identify and execute optimisations to improve the efficiency and performance of campaigns
-Work to support the strategy through campaign setup, configuration, and reporting of paid social campaigns for our clients
-Create campaign performance reports, including insights, to share with clients
-Research and source new clients and opportunities
-Work with the Director to proactively apply best practices and new recommendations to client campaigns
-Implement A/B testing to gather data that can be used for better informing campaign performance and optimization
-Support the quality control process ensuring the accuracy of the campaign efforts

Experience and Skill Sets:

Must have:
-3+ years of marketing experience in setting up and optimising social media ads, on Meta and LinkedIn. (Though we plan to expand our service to other platforms too.)
-Effective communication with the rest of the team, clients and other stakeholders

Desirable:
These are not a requirement for the role, and we don’t expect any candidate to tick all the boxes.
-Is able to take leadership on the project with support from the rest of the team, spinning out the initiative fully from EA Hungary during their contract period, eventually becoming the director or co-director for the new organisation.
-Experience with fundraising in the EA and AIS ecosystem
-Having a good understanding of EA/AIS field-building and the theory of change behind different projects
-Experience with data analysis and/or data visualisation and/or web-development
-People management skills
-Being passionate about growing the EA and AI Safety communities

Salary and other benefits

-25-40 USD per hour (pre-tax)
-10% of the hours you would work can be taken off as a paid vacation during your contract period.

Location & time

-Remote or in-person in Budapest
-Work hours: flexible, 20-30 hours per week, some overlap with European work hours is necessary

Junior Marketing Specialist

The main difference between the roles is the amount of previous experience and the level of autonomy we expect from candidates.

Must have:
-Effective communication with the rest of the team, clients and other stakeholders

Desirable:
These are not a requirement for the role, and we don’t expect any candidate to tick all the boxes.
-1+ years of marketing experience in setting up and optimising social media ads, on Meta and LinkedIn. (Though we plan to expand our service to other platforms too.) However, we are open to hiring someone with no previous experience if they can demonstrate a high level of agency and the ability to get up to speed on projects very quickly.
-Having a good understanding of EA/AIS field-building and the theory of change behind different projects
-People management skills
-Experience with data analysis and/or data visualisation and/or web-development
-Being passionate about growing the EA and AI Safety communities

Salary and other benefits

-11,25-25 USD per hour (pre-tax)
-10% of the hours you would work can be taken off as a paid vacation during your contract period.

Why is there such a wide range of hourly rates?

We thought this is worth clarifying upfront, as the discrepancy between our minimum offer for the junior role and the maximum offer for the senior role is quite large indeed. The reason for this is that we want to accommodate a wide range of potential candidates. If someone were to apply for the junior role from a low-cost location with very limited previous experience, we would offer an amount on the lower end for ~10 months (e.g. Hungary is quite cheap, and an 11,25 USD hourly rate is considered quite decent for fresh graduates.)

On the other end, we would be excited to work with a more senior marketer who lives in a high-cost location, in this case, the maximum amount we can offer them is 40 USD/hour for ~6 months. This amount would include our budgeted salary top-up for senior candidates. While having a shorter contract means we will need to fundraise sooner, we already have a decent amount of data to showcase the promise of this project to funders and feel confident that during the next months, we will be able to make our case even stronger.

Our team

As part of your role, you will be working closely and be supported by ENAIS Co-director and EA & AIS Hungary founder Gergő Gáspár. His background is in psychology and he has 5 years of experience in community building.

Merell Lystra is our social media assistant and has been doing the lion’s share of work during the summer with the team’s support. However she is starting a new university program in September, so her involvement will decrease with the project in the coming months.

Milán Alexy is the Director for EA Hungary and Head of Operations of AI Safety Hungary. His background is in economics and behavioural science.

The advisor of this project is Marta Krzeminska, a seasoned marketing professional who was previously Head of Marketing for Mindease.

When would you start?

The application deadline is the 23rd of September, and I expect the hiring process to take ~3 weeks. Once we make an offer you can start immediately if you can, but we are willing to wait for the right candidate.

If you have a clear metric to judge candidates on (eg engagement on a linkedin ad) then you might be able to do a super effective and quick performance-based hiring method. Shameless plug: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/3AZkXwcCJZc5CAFQN/how-to-hire-somebody-better-than-yourself [LW · GW]

Good luck!
