Perhaps the Spaniard and/or Catalan tropers, and those others who simply feel like visiting this wonderful city that is Barcelona, could meet here during Semana Santa, the Spanish Spring Break, which lasts from April 15 to April 24. We could decide on a date within that interval. I'm not trying to compete with Paris or anything, but it's really one of the most convenient times in the year for such an event to take place.
Don't expect any Ku Klux Klan lookalikes though, Catalonia just doesn't do that.

Don't ask. It doesn't work when you ask. Pick a time, pick a place, commit to being there with an identifying book (like Demon-Haunted World or something). Worst case, nobody shows up. If anyone prefers meeting in another time or place, they can say so in the comments.

Eliezer, I noticed two comments you just posted re: "How not to post a meet-up". Perhaps it would be better to write a "How to write a meet-up post?" [Of, if there is, such comments would be more useful as "Don't do X. See meet-up post at , section Y.]

Eliezer's post looks to me like:
How not to post a meetup:

I am not seeing the problem here.

It's just that if there's nobody willing to come to Barcelona I might have to show up in Paris or something. I really really really want to get into one of these meetups, but there appear to be NO spaniard tropers except those I got to read your fic, and those are only starting to explore the site. Plus, we meet up every friday, so it would be kind of redundant.

Worst case, nobody shows up and you waste one (1) evening.

Less than that if you take a book or an audio book on your ipod!

:) It's ok. My ipod is actually in semi retirement and I tend to listen to stuff on my android phone these days. Apple wasn't nearly as distasteful back when I bought it as it is now. Oh, and my old iPod runs RockBox. Itunes pissed me off one too many times. It is so much easier just to be able to copy music onto the device as though it is a hard drive (which that model in fact is) - and have the RockBox-iPod just index everything in the background anyway.

It shall be done. However I would rather take a plane to Paris than sit idle for a weekend, and so unless there is response to hold one right here at the same date I will hold it the weekend after that.
If nobody shows up, I guess I'll read Permutation City or something. BTW, I just audioread Snow Crash. Now I have a clearer idea of what a weirdtopia is.
