Discussion article for the meetup : Dallas, TX

WHEN: 10 January 2015 01:00:00PM (-0600)

WHERE: 3725 Belt Line Road, Addison, TX 75001

This is the new Dallas meetup. We will be meeting up at Dunn Bros Coffee on Saturday, Jan 10th at 1 PM. We will have a sign that says "Less Wrong" on it.

(We're open to changing the location after the first meetup)

My roommate and I just moved to Dallas and decided it was time for a meetup. There was a previous Dallas LW meetup which disappeared for reasons unknown to us. Neither of us attended that meetup, but we invite any previous members and any newcomers to have coffee with us and hang out.

I can't attend this one, but I can possibly attend in the future. The Dallas area is a 2 hour drive for me, but I make it up there every couple of months or so. (Incidentally, I'll be there on Saturday night, but not in time for this meetup.)

Thanks for reminding me! I'll have a sign that says "Less Wrong".

I'm not sure if I will be available this day as one of my good friends is coming into town, and he isn't the LessWrong sort. I will definitely try though, and I might just stop by to see how the event is going.

Also, I was a member of the previous LessWrong group in DFW, so the reasons it disappeared are known to me.

Additionally, I would strongly recommend that we talk, as I'm an organizer for a Dallas technology group, I lead a religious studies group in the area, and I've been involved with a lot of intellectual groups as well as the Dallas freethought community. I have a strong interest in making this work.
