Meet inside The Shops at Waterloo Town Square - we will congregate in the seating area with the trees sticking out in the middle of the benches next to the Valu-Mart at 7pm for 15 minutes, and then head over to a KWR member's amenity room.

Discussion

On February 12, 2013, Scott wrote the inaugural Slate Star Codex post, You’re probably wondering why I’ve called you here today. Then he started posting lots of other good posts on the blog, and didn't stop for almost a decade.

You'll find a list of all most of them below - I took out the housekeeping posts, the monthlyish link posts, the short life update posts and shitposts, and the Christmas Poem, leaving just the bloggy stuff (I hope). If you want to see a complete archive, scroll to the very bottom of the post here.

At the meetup, let's discuss:

• How has Scott's thinking and writing style changed or remained consistent since 2013?
• On average, are these earlier posts better or worse than his more recent work? Why might that be?
• Has anything he's written aged particularly poorly or held up surprisingly well?
• Which of these older posts stand out to you as highlights? Any you think are overlooked gems or have gotten more relevant over time?"

Edit permissions are enabled so people can claim a row and do their own recommendations if they feel like it. (The alternating colour formatter changes the checkmark colours as well, there's no difference in meaning between blue and grey checkmarks.)

Click around and try to read three or four posts with titles that intrigue you before the meetup, or lots of endorsements from KWR folks.

Housekeeping

This meetup and the next are going to be on Fridays, and then the week after that we'll be hosting the megameetup on Saturday. After that, meetups will continue on Thursdays indefinitely, with the exception of megameetups. See the discord for details!
