What happened to the annual LW demographic surveys?

Scott Alexander once ran an annual survey of the LessWrong community. After 2014 he seems to have stopped and the surveys happened intermittently. User namespace picked up the torch in 2016 [LW · GW] and 2017 [LW · GW]. Bob Jacobs also did one in 2020 [LW · GW].

Since then it doesn't look like any have been done.

Given that the early surveys were popular, I'm surprised they no longer happen. Is there a simple reason for this I might have missed?

Scott has continued running annual(ish) surveys at SSC/ACX. They have a lot of overlap with the old LW surveys.

It's a lot of work, and no one has stepped up. I don't think there's any reason other than that.
