What, When, Where

Do you also miss regular rationality meet-ups in your local town? Did you read so many articles on LessWrong, SlateStarCodex/AstralCodexTen, or similar blogs and want to discuss all their interesting ideas? Do you want to share (or peer-review) your ideas on stuff like reflective equilibria, ugly buildings , AI timelines, or the why and how of market failure (or functioning)? Do you want to meet some friendly rationalist (or adjacent) people?

If so, then it's time to re-boot the local rationality group. I propose to meet on Wednesday 6th of November at 18:30 somewhere in the centre (pm me for the details). If you're a little bit late that's fine, but I suggest arriving before 19:00.

We will discuss a short and light article Scott Alexander's recent post on Nietzsche's morality (see also the audio version). Afterwards, there will still be time for free discussions / socializing (let's see if there's interesting topics besides the fresh US election results).

If you read the text, you can try to write down/remember some thoughts/remarks/questions so you can more easily share them.[1]

The first Wednesday of each month seems like a good Schelling point for monthly meet-ups—it's a common frequency in other cities and fits between local EA meet-ups. If the venue works well, I can organize the room and post announcements for a while, but I expect to move away (or lose interest) at some point. If you enjoy events like this and would be interested in organizing, step up.

small edit: I removed the location from this post because of the contract with the venue; if you want to come just ask me about the location!
