I'm running a free retreat for LessWrong users (I'm using the term lurker but this is aimed at anyone who reads the site) who aren’t yet working on existential risk mitigation but might be interested, in the hopes of catalyzing some of them into people who are. It’s called the Lurkshop. Apply here by December 1st, ideally sooner! We cover all costs, including flights. The program is located in Berkeley and takes place Dec 16-18. Here's a tentative schedule for the workshop. It's largely unconference-style, centered around enabling the kinds of interactions that can only happen in-person (personalized advice, getting to know people/building relationships, etc), rather than a bunch of talks that could have been LessWrong posts.

If you like the kinds of ideas explored on LessWrong and the vast majority of your quality-weighted discussions about rationality occur online rather than in person, then this might be a good fit for you.
