I'm not a mathematician but a thought occurred to me last year about a way to conceive of free will and determinism working in conjunction; antipodal points. Think of our lives in a linear arc of time between two opposite points on a sphere. Our path from point A to point B (antipodal) is predetermined...meaning we will begin at one point and end at the other; however there are infinite arcs to get from point A to point B - the freedom to make choice.

Although I do find this indeed an interesting parable, yet I fail to see any practical implications of this insight. Perhaps you could elaborate more on if there are any?
