Karlsruhe Rationalist Meetup #51

We aim to connect Rationalists from Karlsruhe (Germany) and surrounding areas. We are always happy to get to know new people and new perspectives. Please feel free to drop by even if you are not sure about it, or are not ‘the typical LessWrong / SSC reader'.

This week we want to

• listen to a talk about personal finance
• use this short story as a hook for a discussion about brain scanning and brain emulation; with a bit of luck I will also contribute a brief summary of Robin Hanson's The Age of Em (see also this review by Scott Alexander) (note: maybe there is not enough time for this and we will do this next week)
• hang out and socialize :)

As usual, we will meet on Big Blue Button on Tuesday at 19:00 o'clock. Note that by default our meetup language is German. Link: here (Room will be open before 18:50).

One week after this meetup  (meetup #52), we will continue discussing the Replacing Guilt Series we have been reading. We want to talk about part 5.
