This Virtual Town Hall will discuss how and why Australia can contribute to future AI systems being safe and the $600 billion economic benefit that could follow
What to expect
- Industry and academic expert discussion of AI risks and opportunities
- Views on practical policy solutions for responsible AI governance
- Your chance to put questions to AI experts
- A chance to engage with other participants and make a difference on AI safety.
How to help (even if you're not in Australia):
- Strengthen our collective voice — your participation demonstrates to politicians that people have a long-term vision and care about transformative AI. Invite people you know who share these concerns -- the more participants, the stronger our message.
- Sign the open letter at australiansforaisafety.com.au — anyone can sign, but we especially want people with a connection to Australia (e.g., citizens, residents, or those who have lived/worked/studied there) and especially value experts and public figures.
- If you're registered to vote in Australia, email your local candidates through the website to ask for their positions
- Boost visibility by engaging with social media posts about the campaign
