It's very interesting you would use cardboard. I've seen people use garbage bags and duct tape before. I literally just showed this to my appliance repair guy at www.appliancerepairvictoria.com and he nearly had a heart attack laughing, so although it's not professional you're still providing a service in that regard, ahah.
