I don't think the reason she's being spared is because she is considered a tortured individual. Wasn't it stated somewhere that she was created for the purposes of Voldemort? I don't think you can blame someone for doing something they were constructed and programmed to do. It's like getting angry at a robot, or a calculator. I may have misinterpreted something that was written somewhere, and if so I do apologize.
