Hi! I'm interested in curing death or at least contributing to the cure. I'm an ok computer programmer and I'm preparing to go to school this spring to work on a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Cognitive Science. I'd like to make friends with someone who is also at the early planning stages of pursuing a similar degree, and yeah, I do realize just how specific those requirements are, but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out just in case. I'm in a fairly good place in my life to pursue my education, but I don't yet know how it's going to go. If you're in a good place to go to school, but are scared or need if you need some help deciding that it's what you want to do, instead of stressing or worrying about it, how about we work on it together? I'm currently reviewing a number of educational topics, primarily through Khan Academy.

I discovered the joys of cognitive science while reading Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. I've always fancied myself a fairly rational person, but I've not yet studied it formally.
