Sure. But would you still feel the need to replace it if you lived in a world where it wasn't taught in school in the first place? Would you yearn for something like it?

We are here at LessWrong, where it's expected to argue for your position. It seems to me like your post just assumes that literature is useless and hopes for applause instead of doing anything like an argument.
